Connecting Business Impact to Developer Experience
Talk in English.
«Tell me how you will measure me, and then I will tell you how I will behave” – Eli Goldratt.
Measuring developer experience is a great way to measure productivity, but does that actually result in delivering value for the business? Is the inverse also true? i.e. Is Productivity a measure of good developer experience? Also, does productivity accurately measure value for the business?
Developer Experience mostly addresses Productivity or Performance but often fails to adequately address the value to the business. I would argue that clear metrics for value to the business are as important as productivity when it comes to developer experience. Understanding and delivering value is a great motivator, not to mention good business, and delivering value well (i.e. productivity) is even better.
Key Points:
* How measures inform behaviours
* Why do we measure developer experience?
* How do we measure developer experience:
* DORA / SPACE / Feedback Loops, Cognitive Load, Flow State
* The devil is in the detail
* Productivity/Performance Metrics: getting nowhere fast
* Product Metrics: the hard question of value
* Product and Productivity Metrics (a false dichotomy)
* Connecting economic variables to metrics
* The whole-team perspective on metrics

Eduardo Galán - Huawei Cloud
As I once roamed the vast, twinkling cosmos from planet to planet, my journey brought me not just close to stars but also to the discovery of the expansive clouds—not of the sky, but of computing. For over twelve years, I have sailed through these digital clouds, steering through their complex architectures and vast networks with the same passion I reserve for the roses of my home planet. In this cosmic adventure, I’ve grown particularly fond of the Linux universe—a place of freedom and flexibility, where one can craft their own galaxies. But beyond this, my travels have taught me the art of cost optimization, ensuring that every bit of resource is as valuable as a drop of water on my tiny planet. What truly thrills me is standing at the crossroads where technology shakes hands with sales. Here, I have learned to translate the intricate language of tech into the simpler, sweeter dialect of human connection, enabling businesses to thrive under the shelter of the clouds. Together, let us explore the boundless possibilities of IT and cloud computing, where every challenge is an adventure and every solution a step closer to understanding the universe.

How DevEx impacts on DevOps?
Talk in Spanish.
DevOps and DevEx are complementary approaches to software development. DevOps focuses on collaboration between development and operations to automate processes and improve software delivery. DevEx, on the other hand, seeks to improve the developer’s experience by interacting with development tools and processes, thus optimizing the development process itself.
Applying both concepts together can be highly beneficial. For example, automating software delivery processes not only improves operational efficiency, but also reduces the workload of the development team. At the same time, selecting developer-centric tools and platforms can make the development process more intuitive and efficient.
The culture of collaboration, feedback and continuous improvement promoted by DevOps and DevEx can lead to a more productive and creative work environment, among other benefits, which will be reviewed during the session.

What would be your ideal eleven for development in the AI era?
Talk in Spanish.
The LC/NC ecosystem and AI are transforming software development, but to what extent? I propose to do an exercise before breaking with the established structure of work teams because of the inertia we have in the industry. Let’s imagine a world in which these tools had existed 20 years ago: would Scrum have emerged? And if so, would it be as popular as it is today? Would developers be as crucial? Or would we prioritize soft skills such as analytics, empathy or communication? In this talk, I want to reflect on the perspectives that these new technologies open in the structure and composition of development teams. If we put ourselves in the shoes of the company that requires a technological development, what would be the perfect eleven you would like to have for that project?
This is an original and topical approach to assess the extent to which AI and LC/NC tools can change the way development teams are put together in IT projects. There is a lot of talk about the impact of these technologies in almost all areas and sectors and also in development, but instead of thinking directly about breaking the preset structures, I propose to reflect on it. In what way are they going to change? What skills are going to bring more value to development teams? What challenges does this new scenario open up?
Sergio Aguado - Cuatroochenta

In 2021 he promoted the Cuatroochenta Chair of Artificial Intelligence, Health and Welfare of the Universitat Jaume I. He enjoys his work very much and his strong point is to know most of the existing technologies and to be up to date with the latest developments, in order to apply them to specific challenges and projects.
